Loreto

A visit to the Loreto Bay National Park is an opportunity to observe the marine biodiversity of the area, including the reefs of Coronado Island.

The park also offers opportunities for aquatic activities, such as swimming with sea lions and exploring shipwrecks.

Loreto Bay National Park is located off the coast of Loreto, a town in Baja California Sur, Mexico. This area, characterized by its natural splendor, is situated on the Baja Peninsula, bordered by the crystalline waters of the Sea of Cortez. The renowned oceanographer Jacques Cousteau once referred to this sea as “The Aquarium of the World,” a designation that acknowledges its remarkable biodiversity and marine life.

The expansive park, spanning over 800 square miles, encompasses five primary islands and their surrounding islets, along with submarine canyons and marine terraces, offering a diverse array of ecological niches.
