{"id":449,"date":"2025-02-06T15:43:48","date_gmt":"2025-02-06T15:43:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diveintomexico.mx\/?p=449"},"modified":"2025-10-23T20:14:34","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T20:14:34","slug":"revillagigedo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diveintomexico.mx\/en\/revillagigedo\/","title":{"rendered":"Revillagigedo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Mexican Galapagos, as the region is known, is a unique ecosystem that boasts a variety of natural features and species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Revillagigedo Archipelago is located 390 kilometers southwest of Cabo San Lucas, at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula in Mexico. The largest of these islands, Socorro Island, measures only 16.5 by 11.5 km. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following dive sites on the archipelago of its three islands will be explored: San Benedicto, Socorro, and Roca Partida (conditional upon favorable weather conditions). Exploration sites in novel locations will be part of our itinerary to discover the charms of this area.<br>The presence of hammerhead sharks, whitetip sharks, silky sharks, freshwater turtles, tiger sharks, and whale sharks has been documented in the region. Additionally, the presence of manta rays, tuna, horse mackerel, and whales has been recorded in the region, further augmenting the biodiversity of the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The diving season here extends from November to May, offering optimal conditions for whale watching. The optimal period for observing humpback whales is from January to April, when the water temperature is cooler.
