The underwater biodiversity is extensive with more than 6,000 unique species. One of the most diverse dive destinations on the planet, the Sea of Cortes is home to a variety of marine environments and incredible marine wildlife including whales, sea lions and more.

From January to April, the region is visited by migrating humpback whales, followed by fin, blue, and sperm whales from April to December. The optimal period for visiting sea lion rookeries is from September to May, avoiding the mating season. The aggregation of whale sharks is also a notable phenomenon during this period.

The Sea of Cortes is renowned for its exceptional visibility, often exceeding 100 feet, which allows divers to observe the underwater spectacle with remarkable clarity.The region’s appeal extends to a diverse range of interests and skill levels, encompassing photography, conservation, and the pursuit of exploration.
